“What Really Makes You Tick?” 9 questions you should ask yourself: a preparation to self-awareness.

Be all you can be, but it’s not always in the Army. I sometimes see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it’s hard to think of anything else when we have real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we are all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

I know I do not want a mediocre ANYTHING!! Especially now that I have babies, I want to offer them the world and what parent doesn’t. I always look for self improvement and self awareness. I enjoy that emotion and love feeling happy. Dreaming about my future is a daily practice of mine. I love to visualize and believe it. This brings me alignment with the universe.

1. What do I really want?

The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day. Find something that you are good at, a passion, a hobby, that can help realize that small step towards improvement. Notice your emotions in the passion you have, it is positive. With that positive emotion is were you started noticing changes with in you, your inner-being. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it. Learn More Here.

 

2. Should I really change?

Since life offers no guarantee and you would never know that your decision would be wrong until you have made it, then you might as well take the risk and decide. It is definitely better than keeping yourself in limbo. Although it is true that one wrong turn could get you lost, it could also be that such a turn could be an opportunity for an adventure, or open more roads. It is all a matter of perspective. You have the choice between being a lost traveler or an accidental tourist of life.

 

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?

With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round! My train has twin girls and a new way of looking at life and finding joy in everything.

 

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions. I believe that is always a bit of uncomfortable feeling when you are trying out new things, even a little excitement.  Again, pay attention to your emotions, do your emotions feel positive or negative with what you are doing? If it is negative move your mind to more positive thoughts.

For example, (start general) I feel happy when I drink coffee. Coffee tastes so good in the morning. Coffee drinks make me happy. Coffee is so velvety in my mouth. etc. See it derailed you from your negative thought. AND YES it’s that simple.

 

5. Have I done enough for myself?

Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

For example, it is much easier to lose 2 lbs in a week, than 20 lbs in a month. Small increments get you to that 20 lbs fat lose. By the end of that first week you will step on that scale and see a 2 lbs decrease. This ignites positive feelings and most likely you will say, “well, that was easy. I can do that again for next week!” and so on until you have reached your goal.

I know from personal experience from having twins. Small steps is much easier to handle and it keeps you on track, as well as a positive mindset.

 

6. Am I happy at where I am today?

It’s an unfair question, so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body’s ability to fight disease. Optimists’ health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age. And they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts. So why not be an optimist today? And think positively towards a more fulfilled life.

 

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?

So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit. 8. How much could I have?

I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it’s more on how badly you really need it. I’d like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it? I start my day with visualizing I have that money (what ever your amount is) in my bank account and appreciate the feeling of having millions of dollars in my account. It makes me feel positive, happy, and powerful. I like that feeling so I keep visualizing this for about 15 minutes. I also do this because I love the feeling of the positive emotion. I feel aligned.  You try it out! Tell me how you feel, describe your emotions.

 

9. What motivates me?

What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.

For me, it the laughter of my twin girls, the sunshine glistening off the water, the beach, the ocean, animals, my friends, my family.

 

10. What Really Makes You Tick? (bonus)

So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-awareness is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but also your inner-being and know that is something that you really want.

*Things to note, I do realize this site is named life with twin girls. However, having twin girls has set me on a spiritual journey that was unexpected. I love this new me, things that used to bother me no longer do. I have learned so much about myself and continue to explore.  I can’t wait to share more information with you!!
